Hellebores

Hellebores are invaluable for their midwinter/early spring display of nodding, cup-shaped flowers. They are easy, low maintenance, evergreen plants that prefer well-drained soil in sun/partial shade. Yearly top dressing with hydrated lime sweetens the soil and improves performance. Watch for aphids on the new growth. Remove them with sharp hose spray. or spray with Neem oil. Prune off flowering stems to the base after bloom cycle is finished.
