The 'Marjie' rose is not only a Swanson's Nursery exclusive, it has special historical significance for us as well. Originally discovered and then propagated by August Swanson right here at the nursery, he named it after his granddaughter, Marjie.
Just Hatched: The Final Update
This week's blog is a case of both hello and goodbye. Juliet, Java and Midnight, our feathery and not-so-little-anymore friends, are soon off to greener pastures. Yes, bigger and better things await our little brood: they will be moving to their permanent home with their adoptive parents this Thursday.

While heading outside to do a little weeding on a recent sunny day I decide to check out my currant bushes. Two years ago I planted one bush each of red, white and black currants and I expect this year I’ll have a nice big crop. What the heck!?! The leaves had been chewed on and in some cases only the leaf stem and veins were left!
